Our client, a key player in the Communication and Technologies industry, with presence in all parts of Zambia but headquartered in Lusaka, requires, a versatile, dynamic, self-motivated, highly credible and suitably qualified individual to fill the position of;
CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in defining a clear and well thought out Commercial and Business Development strategy for the institution in sync with the overall long term strategy.

Key accountabilities will include (but will not be limited to) the following;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Design and implement a transformative Sales and Marketing Strategy that drives revenue growth, increased market penetration and profitability in Enterprise, Fixed Services, Digital Products and Mobile Business segments with a particular emphasis on cost-effective customer acquisition drive and market demand stimulation.
- Develop clear and coherent Annual Operating Plans (AOP) that support realization of the Commercial strategy and the institutional budget as well as drive a superior implementation process across the Commercial function.
- Drive responsible and sustained customer growth – keeping churn within acceptable industry thresholds and optimising Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) through the development and implementation of well thought-out and effective Customer Value Management processes and systems.
- Lead the process of customizing and implementing new products, packaging, pricing models, provide cross-functional communication, manage complete customer satisfaction and driving revenue growth for both new and existing customers.
- Outline commercial activities aimed at attaining the budgeted revenue across all revenue segments (Mobile Services, Fixed Services, Enterprise & Digital Services and Mobile Money)
- Provide critical, logical and stretched Revenue and Cost input that optimizes commercialization of the company’s investment across all business segments.
- Develop and sustain a high-performance culture that supports the organisation’s vision, instilling a culture of learning, innovation, collaboration and team strengthening within the department.
- Maintain and further develop the institution’s professional and organizational credibility in the market and effectively manage its reputational risk;
- Conducting comprehensive regular and ad-hoc Business analysis, focusing on the performance of Revenue and associated revenue drivers.
- Benchmarking of the industry’s best practices and advocate for in-house adoption.
- Implementation of customer experience and customer value management initiatives to enhance the customer lifetime cycle and maximize customer value extraction.
- Develop and build robust sales and distribution infrastructure and improve stock availability across all market segments to ensure that the Business identifies and optimizes the commercialization of the Business.
- Assess, build and manage an array of necessary value channels capable of delivering on the company’s growth objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Commercial Team and ensure that all departmental staff meet their performance objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Grade 12 School Certificate with Credits in English and Mathematics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing or equivalent. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
- Telecom Experience at Executive Level
- At least ten years’ experience with a minimum of five years in a commercial role at senior management level
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful commercialization strategies
- Ability to think creatively and develop non-traditional solutions to complex business challenges
